AURORA, CO—JUNE 16, 2018— Invite A Favor was a dominant wire-to-wire winner in the $59,200 Rocky Mountain Futurity at Arapahoe, the first of two Quarter Horse stakes on the Saturday afternoon card.
Invite A Favor and Roberto Valero were first out of the gate and only grew their lead, finishing a length ahead of the rest of the field. The pair posted a time of 16.922 for the 330-yard final and earned a 93 speed index.
Post-time favorite Invite A Favor ($5.80) was the third overall fastest qualifier to the Rocky Mountain Futurity from three trials held on June 1. The Favorite Cartel filly is trained by Jose Villafranco for owner Margarite Montalvo.
This was the second win in three starts for Invite A Favor, who also won her trial. She was bred in Colorado by Bill and Marsha Drake, out of the Mighty Invictus mare Inviting a Snow.
The same owner-trainer connections completed the exacta with One Two, the fastest qualifier and second-place finisher in the final.
With Cerapio Figueroa aboard, One Two made her third career lifetime start and has yet to finish out of the money.
One Two is a Colorado-bred One Sweet Jess filly out of the Ivory James mare Im Hayley Two. She was also bred by Bill and Marsha Drake.
The scattered field included I Did It Like a Man in third place, who was three-quarters of a length behind One Two but over a length ahead of the rest of the field.
I Did I Like a Man was ridden by Ramiro Garcia for trainer Tim Weeder and owner Santos Lopez. He was bred in Colorado by Tracy and Marlie Trask; by Tac It Like a Man, out of Corina Corona, by Southern Cartel.
Completing the field were Cold Stone Cartel, Beyond Speed, Makeitraain, Denali Snowflake, Rcj Doitnow, Logans Favorite and James Foose.
