ST. GEORGE, UT—APRIL 21, 2018—Fastest qualifier Dust A Tac, under jockey Jesus Valenzuela, returned Saturday to defeat Kis My Bit by a neck in the $35,097 Dixie Downs Futurity in St. George, Utah. Sir Trump was another neck back in a blanket finish to take third.
Coming off the fastest qualifying time trial on April 7, Dust A Tac completed the 300 yards in :15.889 seconds, an 87 speed index, to get his second career win in as many starts.
Trainer Luis Gonzalez saddled the 2-year-old son of multiple stakes sire Tac It Like A Man for owner Abelardo Gonzalez. County Line Runners bred the $6,500 Heritage Place Yearling Sale graduate in Texas from the Dean Miracle mare Deans Dusty Bunny.
The Dixie Downs Futurity winners' purse boosted the bay colt's earnings total to $14,363.
Also a Heritage Place Yearling Sale graduate, runner-up Kis My Bit picked up $7,181 for his second-place effort. Owner Adrian Aleman paid $26,000 for the son of leading sire One Famous Eagle from the Streakin La Jolla mare Bits Of Bliss. Jockey Luis Torres rode the sorrel gelding for trainer Richard Castillo.
Bred in Colorado by Thomas Bradbury and Lisa Beauprez, Kis My Bit broke his maiden in his first start the April 7th trials.
Second fastest-qualifier Sir Trump finished a close third for owner Rodney Christiansen. Trainer Bal Brinkerhoff saddled the Texas-bred son of first-crop sire Sir Seth out of the Pyc Paint Your Wagon mare Wagon Cruzer. Ridden by Alex Carrillo, Sir Trump earned $3,591 for effort. Freddie Sumrow is the breeder.
Cir Kingzlees, Winners Blue Bayou, Anas Hope, Senator Cash, Prearranged Wedding and Eyesa Rite completed the field.
Tiny Capitana Breaks Maiden In Dixie Downs Derby
A late surge by Tiny Capitana, under jockey Alex Carillo, gave her a neck victory over Bay Max in Saturday's Dixie Downs Derby. Krash Your Party was a head off the leaders in a blanket finish to get third.

Trainer Josh Taylor conditions the black filly for owner Mena Pedro. Breed in Wyoming by Keith Hildabrand, from the Strawflyin Buds mare Tiny Flyin Levis, Tiny Capitana was a finalist in the Wyoming Downs Futurity last summer.
Tiny Capitana has compiled an (8) 1-2-1 record and with today's $8,514 winner's purse the 3-year-old has banked $11,481.
Runner-up Bay Max is a multiple stakes winning son of Dashair owned and bred by Casey Woolstenhulme and trained by Ryan Christensen. Jesus Virgen was aboard the four-time winner out of the Thoroughbred mare Weekend Traffic by Olympio.
Winner of last year's Utah Bred Futurity and Hawthorne IdaBet.Com Futurity-Div. 2, Bay Max has earned $33,261.
BNB Racing's stakes winning Krash Cartel gelding, Krash Your Party, earned $2,212 for finishing third. Ricardo Castillo trains with jockey Alan Miramontes getting the riding call.
Bred in Texas by Triple K Farms, from the Brimmerton mare Hasta La Veesta, Krash Your Party won the South Valley Futurity at Laurel Brown last summer and was third in The Plan Handicap and fourth in the Los Alamitos Wild West Futurity at 2. He has earned $20,684.
Juno Jess, Tempting Finale, Ud Goldenboy, That’s Amore La Blue, Acadillac, One Hot Party and Corrupt completed the field.
