LOS ALAMITOS, CA—APRIL 20, 2018—EG High Desert Farms’ Bail Czech and Salvador Pimienta’s One Berry scored solid victories in their respected racing debuts to highlight the Friday night racing action at Los Alamitos.

Ridden by Alejandro Luna for trainer Jesus Nunez, the 2-year-old Bail Czech dominated his rivals at 12-1 odds on the way to a 1-¼ length victory in the fourth race of the night.

The gelding by Corona Czech out of Letty Bail Regis Out was third at the start, but he quickly took command and never looked back in the 300-yard dash. Confidently handled by the veteran pilot, Bail Czech covered the distance in :15.669.

He’ll make his next start in the trials to the Robert Adair Kindergarten Futurity on Sunday, May 6.

Sired by Bail Me Out Baby, Letty Bail Regis Out won the 2012 California Breeders Debutante Stakes. The 9-year-old broodmare previously produced the allowance placed runner Diamonds Blue Eye.

Salvador Pimienta’s One Berry got the job done in her debut in the 300-yard dash for 2-year-old fillies. The filly by One Sweet Jess out of 2012 Kindergarten Futurity winner Blackberry Czech was second at the start, but fought back to defeat the well regarded Quick To Royalty by a head in a time of :15.843.

"She did what she had to do," Pimienta said. "She was behind at the start and it was nice to see her battle back and win. It wasn’t a super-fast time, but the important thing is that she now has the experience and showed heart to rally from behind to win. She’s eligible to run in the Kindergarten trials and she’s also eligible to run in the trials to the Ed Burke Million Futurity and Golden State Million Futurity."
