CLAREMORE, OK—SEPTEMBER 16, 2017—Apollos Second Sign(AP), a daughter of first crop Quarter Horse sire Second Painted Sign, was a neck winner over Ojo Por Ojo on Saturday in the $23,500 Cricket Bars Futurity at Will Rogers Downs. Brace For Thunder finished half-a-length back in third.

Ridden by jockey James Flores, Apollos Second Sign completed the 350 yards in :18.025 seconds to pocket the $9,725 winners' purse in the futurity for 2-year-old Appaloosas . Owned-and-trained by Michael Moss, the 2-year-old filly has compiled a (6) 2-1-1 record and earned $27,569 this season.

Ronna Lovely bred Apollos Second Sign in Oklahoma from the Apollo (TB) mare Allies Apollo (AP).

Racin RNS' Ojo Por Ojo (AP) picked up $6,140 for finishing second. Paul Nieto had the riding call for trainer Carlos Ruiz. The homebred gelding is a son of Quarter Horse sire Cartel Success from the Whirling Fastball (QH) mare Boppin Js Fastball.

Coming off a maiden win his last start at Fair Meadows, Brace For Thunder earned $3,330 for this third-place effort. Also, a Racin RNS homebred trained by Ruiz, Brace For Thunder was ridden by Mario Delgado. The son of first crop Quarter Horse sire Brace For Bernal is out of Runordie by Streakin Waddie (QH).

Once A Warrior, Otra Vez and Insurmountable Grace completed the field.
