Marmolly Posts Top Mark in NDQHRA Futurity Trials

FARGO, ND—JULY 15, 2017—Marmolly, a 2-year-old daughter of multiple stakes sire Freighttrain B, kept her record a perfect 3-for-3 after posting the fastest qualifying time for the North Dakota Quarter Horse Racing Association Futurity on Saturday at the North Dakota Horse Park.

The eight fastest qualifiers, from two trials of accredited North Dakota-bred 2-year-olds, will return to the "Horse Park" on Sunday July 30th to contest the $12,000-est. final going 350 yards.

Ridden by jockey Francisco Estrada, Marmolly was a wire-to-wire winner while completing the 350 yards in :18.320 seconds to set the top qualifying time.

Trainer Amanda Haar saddled the brown filly to her third consecutive win, in as many starts, for owner Billy Bucholz. Bred by David and Debra Harsche, from the Carters Cartel mare Marmalades Cartel, Marmolly has earned $3,014 this season.

Six of the eight qualifiers, including the top four, came out of the first trial.

In the second trial Feature A Flash, a homebred racing for owner/breeder David Wisdom, broke his maiden with neck win over Texas Eye to tie for the 4th qualifying time of :18.600 seconds. Jockey Jake Olesiak had the riding call for trainer Ed Hardy.

Feature A Flash, a filly by leading sire First Moonflash from the Feature Mr Jess mare Feature Dreamgirl, has made three starts this season and banked $1,415.
