Movin The Doe Wire-to-Wire Winner in Bitterroot Derby Final

SANDY, ID—JUNE 24, 2017—Ridden by jockey Jesus Valenzuela, Movin The Doe was a wire-to-wire winner by three-quarter of a length over Duck Dash N Go in Saturday's $26,630 Bitterroot Derby at Sandy Downs. Jb Corona Heart finished a nose back in third.

Owned-and-trained by Luis Gonzales, Movin The Doe completed the 400 yards in a hand timed :19.670 seconds, a 99 speed index into a 5 mph crosswind.

Bred in Utah by Steve Berry, the son of multiple stakes sire Maknmoves picked up his seventh career win in 14 starts. Today's $9,852 winners' purse brings his bankroll total to $66,306.

The multiple stakes winner is out of the Hennessy (TB) mare Bundle Doe.

Duck N Dash Go, an Oklahoma-bred daughter of Coronas Fast Dash, races for owner Vicente Treyes and trainer Monty Arrossa. Nakia Ramirez rode the bay filly out of Duck Mea Running by Tour de Kas. She earned $4,926 for the effort.

Mark Hanson saddled third-place finisher Jb Corona Heart, a multiple stakes-placed son of Lovin This Corona, for owner's RTM Stables LLC and Ben McKinney. Jim Hanson and Ben McKinney bred the sorrel gelding in Utah from the Sixes Royal mare Pearl Heart. Jesus Caneles was up to earn $2,463.

A Cartel Hustle, Nightly Fire, Cm Partners In Crime, Alegendinmytime and One Sweet Fool completed the field. Dashing Executive and Ima Ramblin Eagle were scratched.
