OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—FEBRUARY 16, 2017— In one of the sharpest training race performances of 2017, PV Queen Candy Bee was dominant in winning her event on Thursday at Remington Park.

Owned by Gordon Pevehouse of Warner, Oklahoma and trained by Clint Crawford, PV Queen Bee Candy flew over 250 yards in :13.49 seconds over a fast track.

The 2-year-old Oklahoma-bred filly by Cartels Candy Man from the Okey Dokey Dale mare Ima Lazie Too faced a southerly headwind of 14 mph, drawing off to finish 1½ lengths ahead of her nearest training race rival, Theres Our Secret.

PV Queen Candy Bee won the third of 11 training races on Thursday at Remington Park, under sunny skies with temperatures in the high 70s.

Crawford saddled five of nine 2-year-old training race winners including another juvenile by Cartels Candy Man. PV Quarter Horses Candy Cartels Candy hustled to the front and stepped clear of the field to win by 1½ lengths in the third fastest time of :13.59 seconds.

The filly, a half-sister to champion first-year sire Jess Good Candy, won Race 7. Both are out of the Mr Jess Perry mare Jess Send Candy.

Crawfords other winners were Race 8 Peves Candy Chickman, Race 10 Second Painted Sign and Race 6 Candy Girl Returns.

Christian Duron saddled the second fastest 2-year-old winner on Thursday, High Rate Of Duran, a son of second crop sire High Rate Of Return. Julianna Mancillas owns the Oklahoma-bred gelding from the Teller Cartel mare I B A Teller Cartel.

The juvenile quickly overcame a choppy start in Race 2 to draw away by 1¼ lengths under an impressive hand ride. High Rate Of Duran completed the 250 yards in :13.59 seconds to secure the second fastest clocking.

High Rate Of Return joined Pyc Paint Your Wagon and Cartels Candy Man as the only sires with two winners each on Thursday's card. Other sires with winners today include first crop sire Second Painted Sign, Country Chicks Man and Crm Livewire.

The 2017 American Quarter Horse Season at Remington Park will begin on Friday, March 10 and continue thru Saturday, June 3.
