Cowboys Dynasty Breaks Maiden, Sets Top Mark For AQRA-Turf Paradise Open QH Futurity

Cowboys Dynasty Breaks Maiden, Sets Top Mark For AQRA-Turf Paradise Open QH Futurity

PHOENIX , AZ—NOVEMBER 20, 2016—Cowboys Dynasty got his first win after six starts by defeating Riot Act by a neck in the AQRA-Turf Paradise Open QH Futurity trials at Turf Paradise on Sunday. The FDD Dynasty colt posted the fastest qualifying time of :19.957 for the 400 yards.

The 10 finalist, from three trial race conducted on Sunday, will return to Turf Paradise on Sunday, December 11th to vie for the winner's share of a $17,500-added purse.

Ridden by jockey Jesus Osuna, Cowboys Dynasty broke out at the start and brushed before holding on for the win. Alvaro Monteverde owns-and-trains the Arizona-bred colt out of Mexican Radio, by On A High.

Corner K Quartet Horses, LLC bred Cowboys Dynasty who was fourth in the El Moro de Cumpas Futurity last May and fifth in the AQRA President's Fall Futurity last month.

Riot Act held on to the second fastest time of :19.985 seconds. Cervando Garcia Solis conditions the Tr Dasher California-bred for himself and Jesus Solis. Alonso Rivera was aboard the sorrel gelding out of Penny Pritzi, by Pritzi Dash. Bred by Edward C. Allred, Riot Act has earned more than $20,300 this year.

Oklahoma-bred La Mos Pyc posted an impressive 1¼ length win in the second trial to record the third fastest time of :20.078 seconds. William Harris conditions the filly by leading sire Pyc Paint Your Wagon for owner Thomas Scheckel.

Making her first start at Turf Paradise, the bay filly won two races at Prairie Meadows earlier this year. Oscar Rhone bred La Mos Pyc from the multiple stakes winning Heza Fast Dash mare La Mos Chingono. She has earned $15,649.
