Park Avenue Air Soars In Wyoming Claiming Futurity Trials

ROCK SPRINGS, WY—AUGUST 27, 2016—Park Avenue Air broke her maiden with a three-quarter length win Saturday at Sweetwater Downs while setting the fastest time for the Wyoming Claiming Futurity.

The 10 fastest qualifiers, from 15 2-year-olds who competed for a $5,000 tag in two trials on Saturday, will travel to Central Wyoming Fair on September 10th to vie for the winner’s share of a $27,500-est. purse over 350 yards.

Ridden by jockey Tyson Lusk, Park Avenue Air completed the 350 yard course in :17.860 seconds to secure the top qualifying spot. Travis Offret conditions the homebred daughter of multiple stakes sire Dashair for owner/breeder Randy Higginson.

The Utah-bred filly, from the Twaynas Dash mare Cinderella Dash, has compiled a (5) 1-1-0 record.

A and C Racing & Roping’s homebred Riptide Rider was an impressive 1-¼ length winner in the second trial to get the second fastest time of :17.976 seconds.

Justin Vanderwoude rode the Winners Version gelding out of A Fast Runaway, by Make It Anywhere, for trainer Chancey Spencer. It was also the first win, from six starts, for the brown gelding.

Noe of the qualifiers were claimed in the trials and will remain in the name of their owners for the September 10th final.
