Mr Jo Eagle, Admiral Zoomwalt Fair Meadows Stakes Winners Friday Night

TULSA, OK—JULY 29, 2016—Kicking off their closing weekend, Fair Meadows hosted the Rocky Heinzig Stakes and Walter Merrick Memorial Stakes, both worth a purse of $17,500 each, on Friday's race card.

Rocky Heinzig Stakes

Multiple graded stakes winner Mr Jo Eagle posted a one-length win over Streakin Regard in the $17,500 Rocky Heinzig Stakes Friday night at Fair Meadows. I V Gone finished a neck back in the show position.

Ridden by jockey Agustin Silva, Mr Jo Eagle put in a strong bid with a clean trip to complete the 350 yards in :17.525 seconds, a 95 speed index. The $8,730 winner's purse boosted the son of leading sire One Famous Eagle's bankroll to more than $154,000.

Trainer R.L. Rick Robinson saddled the Texas homebred for owner/breeder Dan Nicks. Out of the First Place Dash mare First Place Diamond, the 5-year-old gelding has compiled a (25) 9-2-6 record.

Streakin Regard dueled early under jockey Oscar Delgado but was out finished by the winner. Racing for owner Armando Rivera, the Chicks Regard 4-year-old picked up $2,910 for the effort. Alfredo Gomez trains the Oklahoma-bred out of Streakin La Tac, by Streakin La Jolla. Corner K Quarter Horses, LLC bred the earner of $128,272.

Also a graded stakes winner, I V Gone got bumped early under jockey Cody Wainscott. Juliana Mancillas trains the Ivory James 6-year-old for Celesse Fregoso. L.P. Frank bred I V Gone from the Takin On The Cash mare Bye Bye Bygones. The $1,876 third place check brings the black geldings earnings total to $128,021.

Mamasito Magic, Ting Ting Tac, Totti, Pollitical Scorpion, Bigtime Brady and Leading Bigtime completed the field.

Walter Merrick Memorial Stakes

Blazen Panther dueled early then went two wide on the turn under jockey Daniel Torres. The bay gelding bore out and bumped before he pulled away to a nose win. The first two crossed the wire 2-3/4 lengths ahead of the field. After reviewing the tape the track stewards switched places to give multiple stakes winner Admiral Zoomwalt the victory and Blazen Panther second. Tj Blue Bank finished a nose back in third.

Blazen Panther was clocked in :45.959 while Admiral Zoomwalt completed the 870 yards in :45.983.

Saddled by Gerry McLean and ridden by James Flores, Admiral Zoomwalt races for owner Terry McLean. The Oklahoma-bred son of leading sire Shazoom has compiled a (20) 7-1-2 record in three years at the track.

Bred by Mike Nobles and Christine Hudson, from the First Down Dash mare Tellin It All, Admiral Zoomwalt picked up $10,338 to bring his total earnings mark to $86,413.

Blazen Panther, who was second in the Expo Square Stakes last month, was looking for his first career stakes win for owner/trainer Luz Chavira. B. Cockrell and L. Vanhoozer bred the Panther Mountain gelding from the Blazen Bryan mare Blazen Madie. After pocketing $3,446 for second his earnings total comes to $78,252.

Runner-up in the Grade 3 Speedhorse Derby in 2013, Tj Blue Bank boosted his earnings mark to $87,273 after picking up $1,895 for third. Dee Keener saddled the Royal Blue Chew Chew 7-year-old, out of Shari Bank (TB) by Time Bank (TB), for owner Planefun LLC. Benjamin Lewis had the riding call on the Lee Roy Humphrey Oklahoma-bred.

Completing the field were Thespeedprofessor, Droppin Timber, Dublin My Cash, Eye Can Beatum and Abreka Raincloud.
