OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—APRIL 10, 2016—Sunday afternoon racing featured six trials for the $337,000 Remington Park Derby for Oklahoma-bred 3-year-olds. When the sextet of races was completed, Jess Envision sat atop the field of 10 going to the 400-yard race for Oklahoma-breds.
Owned by the Culver City, Calif. partnership of Garvan Kelly, Nancy Yearsley and Lloyd Yother, Jess Envision is trained by Juan Aleman and was ridden to her trial win and top time by James Flores.
The 3-year-old filly crossed the finish in :20.004 seconds over a fast track and did so while only being asked over the final 100 yards. She appeared to be well within herself before Flores made sure of things in the latter stages.
A daughter of Apollitical Jess from the Tres Seis mare Answer The Dream, Jess Envision won her third career race from nine attempts. The trial romp was her second career win at Remington Park. She picked up $8,730 by winning the trial, pushing her lifetime earnings to $29,522.
Last year's Heritage Place Futurity(G1) runner-up A Tres Of Paint clocked the third fastest time of :20.068 after winning the third trial. Duke Shults saddled the Tres Seis filly to her sixth career victory in 12 starts. The Mixer Ranch bred filly, from the Pyc Paint Your Wagon mare First Painted Sign, has earned more than $386,000. Ivan Carnero had the riding call.

The 2016 American Quarter Horse Season at Remington Park continues Thursday thru Sunday, April 14-17. The $22,500 Paul Harber Memorial for Paints and Appaloosas is the featured stakes race on Friday, April 15. Painted Turnpike, the current star in Paint racing, will compete in the Paul Harber Memorial. Also on Friday night, trials for the American Paint Classic Futurity. The first race Thursday, Friday and Saturday at Remington Park is at 6pm. Sunday afternoon racing begins at 1:30pm. All times are Central. Open daily for casino gaming and simulcast racing, Remington Park features the Bricktown Brewery on the casino floor. Admission, general parking and valet parking are always free at Remington Park, home of the historic $414,000 Oklahoma Futurity. The 75th running of the oldest futurity in Quarter Horse racing takes place on Saturday, March 26, 2016.
