Royally-Bred She Looks Racy Kicks Clear In Biscayne Stakes

HIALEAH, FL—JANUARY 31, 2016—The royally-bred She Looks Racy scored her second straight stakes victory at Hialeah Park when she defeated Shez A Hot Valentine by half-a-length in Sunday's $22,125 Biscayne Stakes. Divas First Wagon finished a nose back for third.

Ridden by jockey Yordanis Amaro, She Looks Racy broke fourth but took the lead shortly to complete the 250 yards in a quick :13.025 clocking, a 102 speed index. Trainer Elio Vazquez conditions the multiple stakes winner for owner Double A Ranch.

Earlier this month the lightly raced filly won the Mockingbird Stakes after shipping to Florida from Texas where she was third in the Grade 1 $448,515 Dash For Cash Futurity at Lone Star Park. The $19,939 Biscayne winner's payday boosted her career total to just over $85,500.

Johnny Trotter bred the First Down Dash filly in Texas from the AQHA Racing Champion Filly Miss Racy Jess, by Mr Jess Perry. She has compiled a (6) 4-1-1 record.

Ridden by jockey Francisco Ramirez, Jr., Sheza A Hot Valentine dueled throughout but had to settle for the runner-up Biscayne paycheck worth $4,203. The Walk Thru Fire filly was making her first start after being scratched from the $390,935 Hialeah Derby, after flipping in the gate, January 17. The lightly raced filly had set the fastest qualifying time during trials contested December 27 for the Hialeah Derby.

Sheza A Hot Valentine races for owner Jaime Flores and trainer Yoani Abreu. Bred in California by Ron Hanna, she has compiled a (6) 3-2-0 record and earned $66,728. Her dam is the Chicks A Blazin mare Double Down Baby.

Ramon Rivera saddled Divas First Wagon to third for owner J and M Racing and Farm. Omar Reyes had the riding call aboard the Pyc Paint Your Wagon gelding making only his fourth career start. From the AQHA Racing Champion mare Spit Curl Diva, by Spit Curl Jess, Divas First Wagon won an allowance at Hialeah Park on January 9.

Bred in Oklahoma by Lepic-Morgan Partnership, the brown gelding also won his trail for the Remington Park Oklahoma-Bred Futurity last April. His only off-the-board performance was a trial for the Ruidoso Futurity last May. Divas First Wagon picked up $2,212 for the effort to bring his earnings mark to $17,650.

Made To Dash, Five Star Stoli, Southern Lulu and Coming And Going completed the field. Effortlessly Strut, Regala de Amor and Shaky Hero were all trainer scratches.
