Tiny Flying Corona Wire-to-Wire Winner in GP 440 Stakes

GRANDE PRAIRIE, ALB—JULY 26, 2015—Tiny Flying Corona led all the way in a one-length win over Bugs Lil Magic in the $12,100 GP 440 Stakes (not black-type) at Grande Prairie racetrack on Sunday. Mals First Down finished a neck back in third.

Ridden by jockey Ricardo Moreno, Tiny Flying Corona covered the 440 yards in a quick :21.500 clocking into a 13 mph crosswind to earn a 113 speed index. It was the 10th career win in 28 starts for the 5-year-old.

Charles Stojan owns the son of Tinys First Corona out of the Chicks Beduino mare Pj Phoebes Flying. Parson Family Limited Partnership bred the earner of $73,550.

Alberta-bred Bus Lil Magic picked up $3,146 for her second place effort. Laure Ferguson trains the 4-year-old daughter Jess Magic for the partnership of R. Danard, G. Willis, ands. Jeffrey. Danard bred the sorrel mare from the multiple stakes producing Shazoom mare Paulina Bug.

Leech also saddled third place finisher Mals First Down, a Shazoom gelding owned by Charlie Weaselhead and Jim Plume. Bill Robbins bred the gelding in Oklahoma from the First Down Dash mare First A Princess. Ridden by Jose Rocha, he earned $1,452 for the effort.

Honor The Aztec, Bp Secrets Jet Black, Dashin Moonlark Dot, Free Thought and Pow Wow Lane completed the field.
