Fast N Fancy, Just Eagle, Painted Turnpike Win Speedhorse Stakes Series

TULSA, OK—JULY 25, 2015—The Speedhorse Quarter Horse Futurity(G3) and Derby and Speedhorse Paint and Appaloosa Futurity(G1) anchored the closing card of the Fair Meadows 2015 live meet on Saturday in Tulsa.

Speedhorse Quarter Horse Futurity(G3)

Fast N Fancy surged at the wire to take the lead from Miss Sammy May in the $184,560 Grade 3 Speedhorse Quarter Horse Futurity(G3) Saturday night at Fair Meadows Race Course. Vf Floosie finished half-a-length back in the show position.

Ridden by jockey Larry Payne, Fast N Fancy completed the 350 yards in :17.763 seconds into a 7 mph headwind. It was the first career win in four starts for the daughter Pyc Paint Your Wagon out of First Prize Fancy, by Mr Jess Perry. She is a full sister to last year's Remington Park Futurity(RG3) winner Im A Fancy Pyc.

Sam Howard conditions the brown filly that picked up $70,133 for owner Butch Parsons. Weetona Stanley and W.E. Smith is the breeder. Fast N Fancy entered the trials off second place effort by a head to fastest qualifier Vf Floosie.

Brandon Reed saddled Miss Sammy May, a daughter of first crop sire Freighttrain B for owner Curtis Smith. Wesley Ann Anglin bred the gray filly in Oklahoma from the Beet The Feet (TB) mare Miss Sound Dancer. With a (5) 2-2-0 record, Miss Sammy May picked up $31,375 to double her earnings total to $64,011.

Fastest qualifier Vf Floosie bumped early but rallied under jockey G.R. Carter, Jr. to pickup the third place check of $20,302. Brian Muse saddled the homebred daughter of leading sire Foose from the The Harder They Fall mare Wheely Quick. She has earned $57,379.

A Bee C, a stablemate of Vf Floosie, owned by Victory Farms and trained by Muse, finished a neck back in fourth. Jim and Marilyn Helzer bred the Apollitical Jess gelding from Hollywood Caliente.

Bloomer Ride, Fast Ferdinand, Spit Like A Pit, Satcha Wagoneer, Prissy Cartel and Reason For Roses completed the field.

Speedhorse Quarter Horse Derby

Just Eagle came out on top in a blanket finish in the $47,420 Speedhorse Quarter Horse Derby Saturday night at Fair Meadows. Big Kids Birthday and Unfurrgetable were each a neck back from the winner to finish second and third respectively.

Racing for owner Garrett Baker and trainer Donnie Lee Strickland, Just Eagle raced over the 350 yards in :17.710 seconds, an 87 speed index into a 7 mph headwind. Jesus Salazar had the riding call aboard the One Famous Eagle filly out Debs Cartel, by Corona Cartel.

It was the fourth win in 13 starts and the $18,020 winners purse brings the Texas-bred filly's earnings mark to $52,795. Hazel Mulanax is the breeder.

Big Kids Birthday earned $8,061 for his second place effort for owner/breeder Adrian Jeffery Bigby. Dee Kenner conditions the Furrtreeous gelding out of Bobbie Blue Chewchew. Larry Payne was up.

Also by Furrtreeous, Unfurrgetable races for owner Joel Pierce and trainer Jerry Ingles. G.R. Carter, Jr. was aboard the filly out of Sweeties Streak, by Streak N Dash. Bred by Joseph A. Jones, the sorrel filly earned $5,216 for the effort.

Boozin And Cruzin, Tf Painted Strawfly, A Black Zipper, Willies Lil Indian, Nutbush, Tempting Secret Dash and Zoom Thru Fire completed the field.

Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Futurity(G1)

Painted Turnpike redeemed himself Saturday night with an impressive 1¼ length win in the $86,890 Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Futurity(G1) at Fair Meadows. The son of Pyc Paint Your Wagon entered the race with the second fastest time after losing for the first time after a troubled start in the July 11 trials.

Now with six wins and seven starts, the three-time futurity winner used the $33,018 winner's purse to boost his career total to $191,518. Cody Smith rode the bay colt to a :17.620 clocking, a 90-speed index for the 350 yards.

Matt Whitekiller conditions the homebred for owner/breeder Nolan D. Pevehouse. He is out of the SF Royal Quick Flash mare High Class Turnpike.

Buddy Albin's Bull finished second for trainer Randy Hill. The Oklahoma-bred son of Cartel Success earned $14,771 to bring his career total to $53,879. Third in the Oklahoma Paint Futurity earlier this season at Remington Park, Bull is out the Texas Hero mare Memories Of Texas. Bill Price is the breeder and Jorge Torres had the riding call.

Fastest qualifier Psychedelic Scott put in a solid finish but had to settle for third, earning $9,558. Dee Keener saddled with G.R. Carter, Jr. riding the Judys Lineage gelding for owner Paint Horse Queens. Wendy Ingersoll bred the gelding in Oklahoma from the Holland Ease mare The Hippie Chick. Already a futurity winner this year Psychedelic Scott has earned nearly $90,000.

Completing the field were Wl Mr Worldwide, Imahotchicken, Mhm Hotwire, Momas Lil Wagon, Royal Snowman and Dtl Head Honcho.
