Premier Ethics Keeps 4-for-4 Record in Tact With Sunshine State Derby Victory

HIALEAH, FL—MARCH 3, 2015—Following a slow start, Premier Ethics surged at the wire to defeat Easily Bono by a head in the $61,050 Sunshine State Derby at Hialeah Park Tuesday, maintaining her perfect 4-for-4 record. Jlcjazzslilbro finished three-quarters back for third place.

Jockey Osdany Leal hustled the Ethics Aside filly to victory by covering the 400 yards in :19.976 seconds. The $36,350 winners purse brings the Florida-bred's earnings total to $63,150.

Trainer-and-breeder Rogelio Martinez saddled the filly for owner Renata Lopez. Premier Ethics is out of the Reeds Dash mare Poker Pot Dash.

Easily Bono, a daughter of world champion sire Bono Jazz, races for Alicia Smith and trainer Judd Kearl. Rodrigo Vallejo had the riding assignment aboard the Florida-bred from the Apollo (TB) mare Easy Launch. The lightly raced filly earned $12,210. Flying Fisch Farms Inc. is the breeder.

Also a Bono Jazz 3-year-old, Jlcjazzslilbro is a Wyoming home-bred racing for owner/breeder John Robinson. Also conditioned by Kearl, the gray gelding was ridden by Raul Gutierrez. Out of the Robin Banks mare, Chasin Banks, Jlcjazzslilbro picked up $6,715 for his effort.

Getting It On, Thrilling Finish, Fearghas, Avian Runway, Strait Away Lucy, Ima Fighting Gator and Cashin Cartel Checks completed the field.
