HIALEAH, FL—JANUARY 17, 2015—Seize The Win scored his second career stakes victory Sunday with a commanding victory over fastest qualifier Moonin In The Eagle in the $417,575 Hialeah Quarter Horse Derby at iconic Hialeah Park, known the globe over as “the world’s most beautiful race course.” Corona Warrior finished three-quarters back in third.
Seize The Win, ridden by Shanley Jackson and trained by Matt Frazier for owner Glen Graff, broke alertly, took command immediately, and was never threatened in his one-length victory over Moonin the Eagle in the $417,575 Hialeah Derby.
He stopped the timer in 19.272 seconds for 400 yards as he recorded his third consecutive victory. Seize the Win, by Pyc Paint Your Wagon out of the Mr Jess Perry mare Jess an Illusion, earned top prize money of $175,381. Bred in Texas by Jerry Windham, Seize The Win picked up $175,381 to boos his career earnings mark to $255,863.

Jesus Garrido saddled Red Corona Warrior for owners Terrazas Family. Gerardo Garrido rode the Coronas Fast Dash gelding out of Prairie War Princess, by Dashing Is Easy. The homebred picked up $50,109 to push his career total over $103,000.
The final order of finish in the 2015 Hialeah Derby was: Seize the Win, Moonin The Eagle, Red Corona Warrior, A Black Zipper, Kitty Kat Galore B, Mr El R 15, Allazoom, Tlc Moonshine Wagon, Denim Jeans, and Bp Run Cartel Run.
Sunday’s nine-race program at Hialeah Park, which attracted a festive crowd of 3,143 and garnered $406,762.74 in all-sources handle, included two other stakes events, the $112,910 FQHRA Stallion Stakes Derby and the $27,250 Moonstone Stakes.
