“We enjoyed a solid sale,” said Dino Perez, the business manager of the Pacific Coast Quarter Horse Racing Association. “On behalf of the entire staff of the Los Alamitos Equine Sale, I’d like to thank all the great buyers, consignors and attendees for their great support of the sale.”

Genco purchased Take A Look for owner/breeder Paulo Otavio Freire Macedo of Recife, Brazil. The owner campaigned the distaffer Solid Connection, a stakes winner and Champion of Champions finalist at Los Alamitos in 2015. Take A Look has won six and finished in the top three in 16 of 20 career starts. She won the La Pacifica Handicap last year and was second in the La Primera Del Ano Derby, Las Damas Handicap and Sprint Stakes. Sired by Separatist and out of the leading broodmare Look Her Over, Take A Look is a half-sister to two-time Grade 1 winner He Looks Hot and stakes winner Once Over.

“We might keep her in training,” Genco said. “We’ll see what happens. Right now, she’s heading back to her trainer, Jimmy Glenn Jr., and going back to the same stall that she’s used to and comfortable living in here at Los Alamitos.”

Take A Look is also a half-sister to the top selling yearling, Hot Looking Guy, a colt by Walk Thru Fire. Hot Looking Guy is a full brother to the aforementioned He Looks Hot and Once Over. Kawananakoa also bought the Walk Thru Fire colt Chance To Fire out of the mare Elans Last. Chance To Fire is a half-brother to three time stakes winner Nymph and is from the family of champion Catchmeinyourdreams and stakes winner Sweet TR.

Consigned by Allred, Total Change is a Walk Thru Fire colt out of the Separatist mare Make Over. Total Change is a full brother to multiple graded stakes winner New Look, the winner of the Grade 2 El Primero Del Ano Derby and Grade 3 Bank of America California Challenge Championship.
