Gross, Average, Median Increase at UQHRA Fall Yearling & Mixed Sale

SOUTH JORDAN, UT—SEPTEMBER 13, 2015—Led by a $77,000 Corona Cartel colt, the UQHRA Fall Yearling & Mixed Sale saw increases across-the-board this year.

Held at the Salt Lake County Equestrian Center in South Jordan, Utah there were 39 head sold for total receipts of $231,300 which was up 84% from last year's gross of $125,300. The average price of $5,931 increased 94% from $3,056. The median price of $3,600 was up 80% from $2,000 in 2014.

"We were very excited about our line up of horses this year the quality was very deep," UQHRA Racing secretary Jeannie Hullinger said.

Oilfield Pros Partners purchased the sale-topper CC Brooks Big Boy. The striking son of leading sire Corona Cartel is out of the All American Futurity(G1) finalist Brooks Midnight, by Brookstone Bay. A & C Racing and Roping was the consignor.

Gary Laramie paid $10,500 for Genuine Version, a colt by multiple stakes sire Winners Version consigned by Allreds Horse Haven. The colt is out of the multiple stakes producing Genuine Strawfly mare Audy B Flyin.

Moonlight Rendezvous, a colt by #2 leading third crop sire First Moonflash brought a final bid of $9,700 from Ronald Dean. Running A LLC consigned the sorrel colt out of Commotion Motion, by Country Chicks Man.

The aforementioned Oilfield Pros Partners led all buyers with the one purchase for $77,000. Eddie Jensen paid $20,800 for five head and Dan Robinson purchased two head $15,000.

A & C Racing and Roping lead all consignors or agents with six head grossing $112,000. Running A LLC sold four head for $24,200 and Ron Moosman had three head gross $14,400.

Winners Version led all sale sires (by average with two or more sold) with three for $7,667. Brookstone Bay had three head average $7,500 and Maknmoves had three head for $4,333.

Class Jump was the leading sale covering sire (by average with two or more sold) with two in-foal mares averaging $1,050.
