Attila's Storm Colt Tops Thoroughbreds at NM-Bred Sale

RUIDOSO DOWNS, NM—AUGUST 22, 2015—An Attila's Storm colt named Expect A Storm brought $65,000 to top the thoroughbred section of the New Mexico-Bred Sale at Ruidoso Downs on Saturday night.

Expect A Storm was consigned by A&A Ranch and purchased by R.D. Hubbard and Joe Dee Brooks. He is out of the stakes-placed Prairie Moonlight, a full sister to stakes winner Run Like Fire.

A Roll Hennessy Roll filly, Rock N Roll Me, was the second high seller during the thoroughbred offering at $57,000. She was consigned by Cindy Dick and purchased Dustin Brooks, Joe Dee Brooks and Scott Bryant.

Rock N Roll Me is the first foal out of stakes winner Shamrock Girl, an earner of $251,181.

Overall, the New Mexico-Bred Quarter Horse and Thoroughbred Sale surpassed the $3 million mark in total sales for the first time.

Repurchases were down with 25 repurchased from159 offered. Last year, there were 24 repurchases from 136 who went through the ring.
