SELMA, TX—FEBRUARY 20, 2020—Twenty-nine "Summer Sale" yearlings are among 60 two-year-olds who will compete in 11 250 yard training races on Friday at Retma Park. The track will kick off the day at noon (CDT) with the first training races at 4-½ furlongs for Thoroughbreds and races 2 and 3 for Quarter Horse maidens 3-year-olds and up.

A pair of $52,000 TQHA Yearling Sale graduates, conditioned by leading Texas trainer Leon Bard, will head the list of Quarter Horse 2-year-olds in Race 5 and Race 7.

In Race 5 Bard will saddle Tempting Knockout, a daughter of champion sire Tempting Dash, for owner P&J Racing Ltd. Granada Farms, Agent sold the half-sister to Grade 1 winner SF Hot Pass and full sister to multiple stakes winner Southern Temptation. This is the family of Mexican Champion Cashem Streaker and Ruidoso Derby(G2) winner Southern Cash Man. Francisco Calderon has been named to ride the sorrel filly.

In Race 7 Bard will send out Thompson and Scarmardo's Get Another Dealer, a brother to Grade 2 winner This Is A Deal Too and Grade 2-placed This Is A Deal as well as half-brother to Sam Houston Futurity(G2) winner This Is An Eagle.

The $52,000 sale graduate is sold in the consignment of Granada Farms, Agent, for Pete Scarmardo, is by multiple stakes sire Dealagame from the First Down Dash mare Lady Lilia. The second dam is the Grade 1 winner Lady Tenaya and this is the family of champions Florentine, This Snow Is Royal and champions sire Desirio.
