Jockey Oscar Peinado Back In The Saddle Friday At Los Alamitos

LOS ALAMITOS, CA—OCTOBER 17, 2019—Jockey Oscar Peinado returns to action for the first time in nearly 15 months when he pilots Famous Foose in the seventh race on Friday at Los Alamitos. Eight races are on tap with first post set for 7 p.m. (PDT).

Peinado had been sidelined with fractured vertebrae in his neck and back following a riding spill in late July 2018. At the time of his injury, Peinado was among the leading riders here, having won 25 Quarter Horse races and the winners of over $303,000 during the meet. In his career, Peinado has piloted 258 winners from 2,397 mounts.

With earnings of over $5 million, Peinado's top mounts have included Grade 1 Charger Bar Handicap winner Jess Good Reason, Restricted Grade 1 Spencer L. Childers California Breeders Championship winner Flay as well as stakes horses Senor Toby, Separate Interest, Jess Mas, and He Is The Risingstar.
