LOS ALAMITOS, CA—AUGUST 15, 2019—A Pick 6 Carryover of $7,506 will add spice to a solid 7-race program that will feature an average field of nearly eight horses per race on Friday at Los Alamitos. First post is 7:55 p.m. (PDT).
With the new money expected to be wagered on Friday, the total of pool in the Pick 6 figures to be around $27,000. The sequence will start in race number two - an 870-yard test for Quarter Horses and Thoroughbreds led by recent runner-up Raw Diamond.
The feature event on the card will take place in the seventh race when 3-year-olds and upward face off in a $13,100 allowance at 300 yards. Hayden Brothers Ranch's Estelline, the fastest qualifier to the Grade 2 PCQHRA Breeders Futurity in 2018, will make her sophomore debut when she starts from post number two on Friday.
The Oregon-bred filly by Carters Cartel finished fourth in the futurity final on October 6 and has been on the bench since then. Estelline worked 220 yards from the gate in a nice clocking of :12.10 on July 30 in preparation for her 3-year-old debut. Erasmo Gasca will pilot the homebred filly for trainer Hector Magallanes. The trainer campaigned her during the early part of the freshman campaign, saddling her to a third place finish in the Pot O' Gold Futurity in May of 2018.
Steve Burns and James Markum's Remember The Rose will be making her second start of 2019. A half-sister to multiple stakes winner Powerful Favorite, Remember The Rose ran in the Grade 1 Los Two Million Futurity during her 2-year-old campaign in 2017.
