SELMA, TX—AUGUST 14, 2019—Thirty-five 2-year-olds, topped by Grade 2 finalist Doc Hockaday, have been entered in Friday’s 350-yard Texas QHA Sires’ Cup Futurity (RG3) trials at Retama Park.
A bay son of Kiss My Hocks trained by Robi Meche for owners Tyler Graham and Jose Fabian Hernandez, Doc Hockaday is coming off of a fourth-place finish, three-quarters of a length behind winner Expedyte, in the 350-yard, $308,335 Firecracker Futurity (G2) at Delta Downs on the Fourth of July. The gelding has earned $44,820 from four outs in Louisiana and Texas.
Doc Hockaday drew post 7 and will be ridden by Antonio Alberto in the last of four trials.
The 10 fastest qualifiers will meet in the August 31, $50,000-added TQHA Sires’ Cup Futurity final.
