He Looks Hot Ready For Comeback Race In Lakewood Handicap

LOS ALAMITOS, CA—APRIL 7, 2016—Ed Allred’s He Looks Hot will make his first start since winning the Grade 1, $2,079,000 Los Alamitos Two Million in December of 2014 when he faces a strong field of older horses in the $15,000 Lakewood Handicap Sunday at Los Alamitos.

He Looks Hot was sidelined in 2015 due to colic surgery, but has looked great in his workout drills in preparation for this race. The Walk Thru Fire gelding has posted three works this year and his most recent was a solid :17.80 gate drill on March 15.

Trained by Scott Willoughby, He Looks Hot will start from post number two in the Lakewood at 350 yards. He’ll be ridden by Huerta, who piloted the Allred-bred runner to a half-length victory over a field that included 2015 World Champion Heza Dasha Fire in the Two Million.

He Looks Hot will come into this race with $890,970 in career earnings and three wins in eight career starts. He will carry high weight of 125 pounds. Willoughby will also saddle Allred’s 2014 Governor’s Cup Futurity winner Discontent in this race. Los Alamitos Winter Championship finalists Jiffy James and Dr Jess will also take part in the Lakewood. Owned by Stanley Watkins, Jiffy James was ultra-sharp in an allowance win on March 5, while Dr Jess will be looking for a repeat of his Winter Championship trial win.

First Down Tiny Man, Foosilame, and Blistering Speed will also race.
