LOS ALAMITOS, CA—APRIL 6, 2016—A full night of Quarter Horse racing is in store on Friday evening highlighted by the debuts of 38 2-year-olds including many of the horses that have shined during morning works in the past few months. First post to the eight race card is 7 p.m.
The list of potential stars that will race on Friday include Paul Jones and D. & E Knox’s Evil Genius, Nicolas Hernandez’s Valentines Kiss, Jones and Thompson Racing, Inc’s That Rico and Jesus Nava’s Brimmin Corona.
The Favorite Cartel colt Evil Genius was a big star on March 19, as he posted the fastest of 72 works when posting a :12.10 work at 220 yards. To be ridden by Oscar Peinado, Evil Genius will start from the outside post nine in the opening race on the card.
Freshman fillies will be in action in the second race and the big name there is Valentines Kiss from the barn of Jose Flores. The Corona Cartel filly posted the second fastest of 39 drills (:12.20) on March 24. In the sixth race, Guillermo Morales will saddle the talented Fantastic Corona Jr filly Brimmin Corona, which worked 220 yards in the fastest of 49 drills (:12.10) on March 15. Hashtaggin, half-sister to champion Matabari, will also be in action in the 6th.
