Reigning Distance Champion Wascallywittlewabbit Draws Post 6 for AQHA Albuquerque Distance Challenge

ALBUQUERQUE, NM–SEPTEMBER 13 2002–
Rogers Farms' Wascallywittlewabbit, a 7-year-old Heza Motor Scooter gelding and the sport's reigning champion distance horse, is the even-money morning-line favorite for Saturday's 870-yard, $50,000 AQHA Albuquerque Distance Challenge Stakes at Albuquerque Downs.

Wascallywittlewabbit has won his last four starts, all against stakes company, including the March 31, $50,000 Pauls Valley Stakes (G2), and the May 28, $50,000 Remington Distance Championship (G1), both at Remington Park. Mike Joiner trains the New Mexico-bred gelding.

Wascallywittlewabbit drew post 6 and will be ridden by Benito Baca.

The winner of this race will earn a berth in the October 22 Cox Ranch Distance Challenge Championship (G1) at Horseshoe Indianapolis. The complete lineup, in post position order including jockey assignments and morning-line odds:
