Sun Downs Challenge Races Moved

OGDEN, UT--MARCH 8, 2021--Two regional races for the Bank of America Racing Challenge tentatively scheduled to be held at Sun Downs in Kennewick, Washington, have been moved, because Sun Downs is being used as a COVID-19 vaccination facility and is not available to hold racing.

The Adequan® Derby Challenge set to be held at Sun Downs has been moved to Weber Downs. The $30,000-added Adequan® Weber Derby Challenge will have nomination payments open until March 15 with no penalty. The trials will run April 18 and finals set for May 1.

The Q-Racing Video Distaff Challenge set to be held at Sun Downs has been moved to Grants Pass Downs.

The $20,000-added Q-Racing Video Weber Distaff Challenge will have sustaining payments open until March 25. Its trials are set to be held May 11 with the final on May 25.

"We are continuing to encounter some interruption in our published race schedule due to the impact of COVID-19, but we are certainly delighted that new locations appreciate the value of the Bank of America Racing Challenge to their horsemen and are excited to host the displaced races," said AQHA Chief Racing Officer Janet VanBebber. "It brings us great pleasure to persevere in offering these stakes race opportunities, no matter what obstacles we may face."
