Bank of America Championship Heads Four Challenge Finals at Prairie Meadows Saturday

ALTOONA, IA—SEPTEMBER 12, 2019—The $50,000-added Bank of America Championship Challenge(G2) will head four challenge races on Saturday's card at Prairie Meadows.

Also on tap will the $35,000-added Adequan Derby Challenge, $22,500-added ARC Distaff Challenge(G3) and the $35,000-added John Deere Juvenile Challenge. All of the winner's will also earn starting spots in their respective divisions for the Bank of America Challenge Championships, October 26th at The Downs at Albuquerque.

Bank of America Championship Challenge(G2)

Multiple stakes winner Pyc Jess Bite Mydust has been installed at the 7-2 morning-line favorite for the $60,682 Bank of America Prairie Meadows Championship Challenge. Race 7 on Saturday's eight-race race card has an estimated post of 3:36 p.m. (CDT).

Pyc Jess Bit Mydust has already punched his ticket for the Grade 1 Bank of America Challenge Championship after winning the Bank of America Canterbury Park Championship Challenge in July.

The son of Apollitical Jess enters Saturday's race off a win in the Cash Caravan Stakes at Canterbury Park August 10. He has compiled a (5) 2-1-1 record this season and banked $56,050. Conditioned by trainer Jason Olmstead, the 5-year-old gelding races for owner/breeders Lunderborg LLC.

A Minnesota-bred from the Pyc Paint Your Wagon mare Paint Or More, Pyc Jess Bite Mydust has won seven of 27 career starts and earned more than $247,500.

Adequan Derby Challenge

Tom Maher's Apollitical Mogul has been set a 7-2 as the morning-line favorite in the $50,864 Adequan Prairie Meadows Derby Challenge. Race 4 on Saturday's program will go off at approximately 2:18 pm (CDT).

Conditioned by Jason Olmstead, the daughter of leading sire Apollitical Jess posted the fastest qualifying time in the August 30 trials. Justin Shepherd will ride the bay filly out of Cash Cartel by Corona Cartel.

The multiple stakes-placed runner has won four of eight starts this season and was second in the Canterbury Park QH Derby in July. In two seasons of racing she has banked $80,753.

ARC Distaff Challenge(G3)

Cavenaugh Quarter Horses, LLC's Weetonas Lafawn has been installed as the 7-2 morning-line favorite for the $30,014 ARC Prairie Meadows Distaff Challenge. Race 5, a 400 yard Grade 2 event for Challenge enrolled fillies and mares 3 and up, has a 2:44 pm (CDT) post.

Winless in three starts this season, the multiple stakes winning daughter of Valiant Hero was third in the ARC Canterbury Park Distaff in her last start and third in the Easy Date Stakes at Remington Park April. She has won six of 16 career starts and earned $143,493.

Clinton Crawford conditions the Weetona Stanley Oklahoma-bred filly out of multiple stakes producer First Prize Fancy by Mr Jess Perry. Last season she won the Jack Brooks and Mr Master Bug stakes at Remington Park. Regular rider Juan Pulido has the riding call.

John Deere Juvenile Challenge

David Wisdom's homebred Divas First Moon has been set at 5-2 as the morning line favorite in the $50,303 John Prairie Meadows Deere Juvenile Challenge on Saturday. Race 6 on Saturday's card the 350 yard event has a 3:20 pm (CDT) approximate post time.

The daughter of champion sire First Moonflash has won three of six starts this season including the 1889 Futurity at Canterbury Park in August. An earner of $20,165, she was a three-quarter length winner in the August 31st trials to set the fastest qualifying time to the John Prairie Meadows Deere Juvenile.

Robert Don Johnson conditions the gray filly out of Shake Em Diva by Royal Shake Em. Stormy Smith has the riding assignment.
