Ramblin On in Style Saunters to Easy AQHA Chippewa Downs Bonus Challenge Victory

BELCOURT, ND—JUNE 30, 2018—Ramblin On in Style broke on top and was the gate to wire winner of the $6,330 AQHA Chippewa Downs Bonus Challenge Stakes (not black-type) on Saturday afternoon. The 4-year-old filly and jockey Francisco Estrada made it look easy, winning the 350-yard race by a length over a short field of five.

Ramblin On in Style ($9.00) is trained by Mike Wolf, who also co-owns the filly with Georgine Wolf. She was bred in North Dakota by Randal Schwartz, by Ima Ramblin On, out of Runaway in Style, by Ocean Runaway. Runaway in Style was a stakes winner at Chippewa and Assiniboia in 2012.

As a 3-year-old, Ramblin On in Style won the $7,760 North Dakota Grass Roots Derby; she qualified for the $20,000 North Dakota QHRA Futurity as a 2-year-old after debuting at Remington and racing at Canterbury.

Bigtime Folly won the race for second place, finishing a neck in front of Little Speed Wagon. Bigtime Folly was ridden by Duane Salvino for owners Randy and Sharlene Reuer; Sharlene Reuer also trains.

Bigtime Folly is a 6-year-old mare by Bigtime Favorite. She was bred in Texas by Burnett Ranches, LLC, out of the Mr Jess Perry mare Sixes Folly. Sixes Folly’s dam, Dashing Folly, is a multiple graded stakes winning mare who earned over $535,000 and won the Champion of Champions in 1996.

Though she primarily runs at Prairie Meadows, Bigtime Folly has finished no worse than second in six of her seven career starts in North Dakota.

Third-place finisher Little Speed Wagon was ridden by Jeramie Fennell for trainer Cole Wilson. The 3-year-old filly is owned by Darrel Smith; Smith and Noreen Cavanaugh bred the daughter of Paintyourownwagon in North Dakota, out of the Free Company mare Little Free Speed.

Racing exclusively in North Dakota, Little Free Wagon has yet to finish off the board in seven career starts.

The AQHA Chippewa Downs Bonus Challenge Stakes was hand-timed; no times have been made available.

Completing the field were Jess Streak and Fantastic Percy, who finished in fourth but was placed fifth via disqualification.
