Fire On The Fly Returns in AQHA Lone Star Distance Challenge

GRAND PRAIRIE, TX—SEPTEMBER 28, 2016—Bullard Farms’ Fire On The Fly will make his first start in more than four months in Saturday’s 870-yard, $20,000-added AQHA Lone Star Distance Challenge Stakes at Lone Star Park.

A homebred 6-year-old Jet Cartel gelding trained by Tommy Bullard, Fire On The Fly has won his last five races, and his season resume includes a nose victory in the May 22, $50,000 AQHA Oklahoma Distance Challenge (G3) at Remington Park. Fire On The Fly drew the rail post and will be ridden by reigning AQHA champion jockey Ricky Ramirez.

Jessa Little Rusty, a graded stakes winning 6-year-old son of Mr Jess Perry trained by John Stinebaugh for owner Louis Howard, drew post 4 and will be ridden by J.R. Valenzuela. The gelding has earned $40,410 from four outs this season, and his season record includes a head victory in the 870-yard, $50,000 Remington Distance Challenge Stakes (G3) on June 4.

Merial Lone Star Distaff Challenge

Adashinrose, a 4-year-old Furyofthewind mare owned by Mike Briscoe and Bobby G. Briscoe, is the 2-1 morning-line favorite for Saturday’s 400-yard, $25,000-added Merial Lone Star Distaff Challenge.

Trained by Toby Keeton, Adashinrose won both of her starts at this track last year, including the 400-yard, $25,000 John Deere Stakes. The mare drew post 10 and will be ridden by Esgar Ramirez.

Bryon Gardner’s Kitty Kat Galore B, a 4-year-old FDD Dynasty mare trained by Judd Kearl, drew post 11 and will be ridden by Jose Alvarez. A stakes winner during the Sam Houston Race Park spring meet, Kitty Kat Galore B has banked $22,423 from four outs this season.
