BLACKFOOT, ID—SEPTEMBER 9, 2016—Bigtime Carter was an impressive 1¾ length winner in track record setting time over Papas In The House Friday afternoon in the $17,050 E.I.S.F. AQHA Bonus Challenge at the Eastern Idaho State Fair in Blackfoot.
Ridden by jockey Raphael Romero, Bigtime Carter completed the 350-yard course in :17.251 seconds to earn a 114-speed index. The previous track record of :17.398 seconds was set September 6, 2010 Bcr Buds For All.
Owned-and-trained by Abel Romero, Bigtime Carter scored his fifth career win 21 starts. Paris Wixom bred the 6-year-old son of Carters Cartel in Oklahoma from the multiple stakes producing First Down Dash mare Ms Dashin Bigtime. He is a half-brother to multiple stakes sire Bigtime Favorite. The $8,525 winner's purse boosted Bigtime Carter's career earnings mark to $37,415.
Already a multiple stakes winner, Pappas In The House races for owners Hanson Racing LLC and Rob Evans. Mark Hanson saddled the Pappasito 3-year-old out of AQHA Racing champion Moongoose Jet Eye, by Mr Eye Opener. Also bred in Oklahoma, the bay gelding has earned $119,200. MacKie Racing, LLC is the breeder. Eddie Aceves had the riding call.
Hanson also saddled third-place finisher Rt Mr Caccia, an Idaho-bred son of No Secrets Here owned by RTM Stables, LLC. Susan Hanson bred the gray gelding from the Dashin Is Easy mare Shirleys Secret. Also a multiple stakes winner, Rtm Mr Caccia earned $1,876 to boost his earnings mark to $1,876.
Completing the field were EL Rey Buccaneer, The Midnite Caller and All Guns Firing. Ima Polaris and Snow Panther were scratched.
