SELMA, TX—JULY 11, 2016—Desdemona Rambler and Tac My Time are among the 60 two-year-olds entered in Saturday’s 350-yard John Deere Retama Juvenile Challenge trials at Retama Park.

A homebred colt by champion Tempting Dash trained by Brian Stroud for owner Dan Grube, Desdemona Rambler has earned $61,900 from three starts, and his resume includes a third-place finish, a half of a length behind winner Just Call Me Carter, in the 330-yard, $540,000 Sam Houston Futurity (G2) at Sam Houston Race Park on April 23. Juan F. Garcia Jr. will ride Desdemona Rambler from post 8 in the first of six trials.

Tac My Time is a gelded son of Tac It Like A Man racing for Marco X. Ramirez and Gary Hartstack from the barn of trainer Leon Bard. Tac My Time outran his 12-1 odds to score a neck victory in the 330-yard, $50,000 Sam Houston Juvenile Invitational Stakes on April 23.

Tac My Time drew post 9 and will be ridden by Francisco Calderon in the third heat.

The 10 fastest qualifiers will meet in the $35,000-added John Deere Retama Juvenile Challenge final on August 13.
