EDMONTON, ALB—JUNE 29, 2016—Ridden by jockey Ricardo Moreno, Tiny Flying Corona brushed at the start but surged late to defeat Cruisinfoourabruisin by half-a-length in the $18,321(US) Northlands Park/AQHA Bonus Challenge Wednesday at Northlands Park. Splashy Mamacita finished third.
Saddled by William Leech, Tiny Flying Corona completed the 330 yards in 17 flat, a 94-speed index, to pickup the winner's check worth $9,710(US). The multiple stakes winner entered the race off a second place effort in the Old Timers Classic Stakes on June 12th at Lethbridge.

Graded stakes winner Cruisinfourabruisin showed early speed but got outkicked at the finish. He earned $4,764(US) for the second place effort. Trainer Janice Sather saddled the son of leading Canadian sire First Timber for herself and Barry Sather. Jose Rocha was aboard the Alberta-bred gelding from the Royal Evening Snow mare Tagulator. He has earned more than $95,000 with nine-career wins.
Janice Sather also saddled Splashy Mamacita, another Alberta homebred for the couple, to her third place finish. Martin Ortiz rode the Volcom 4-year-old from the Splash Bac mare Splashy Pizazzy. She picked up $2,198(US) for the effort to bring her career total to$15,847.
Mals First Down, Canadian Timber, Streaken Timber and First Sassy Timber completed the field.
