PHOENIX, AZ--APRIL 28, 2016--Eyesa Famous Eagle, a 5-year-old One Famous Eagle gelding racing for Cesar J. Dabdoub, drew post 2 for Sunday’s 440-yard, $60,000-added Bank of America Turf Paradise Challenge Championship.

Eyesa Famous Eagle is coming off of a Hialeah Park winter campaign during which he ran second, a neck behind Habits Secret, in the 440-yard, $25,000 Sawgrass Stakes on February 7. The gelding’s four wins in 24 outs include a neck victory at odds of 23-1 in last year’s Bank of America Turf Paradise Challenge Championship.

Eyesa Famous Eagle will be ridden by Emilio Tapia for trainer Havid Canez. His seven opponents include Larry Stark’s Jess A Cowboy, a homebred 4-year-old son of Dejon trained by Matt Fales. The gelding will be making his first start since December 6, when he scored a 1 3/4-length win in the 400-yard AQRA Turf Paradise Derby.

Jess A Cowboy drew post 5 and will be ridden by Vince Guerra.

John Deere Turf Paradise Juvenile Challenge

Fastest qualifier Tres N Candy is one of 10 2-year-olds entered back in Sunday’s 350-yard, $25,000-added John Deere Turf Paradise Juvenile Challenge.

Racing for Y/N Horse Stables LLC from the barn of trainer Omar Lorta, Tres N Candy has won both of her outs, including the second of two trials on a sloppy and sealed track on April 10. The California-bred daughter of Tres Seis will be ridden by Luis R. Yescas from post 6 in the final.

Zoetis Turf Paradise Distance Challenge

Ralph and Carolyn Fales’ Mickey Ward will make his 5-year-old debut from the rail post in Sunday’s 870-yard, $17,000-added Zoetis Turf Paradise Distance Challenge.

Mickey Ward will be making his first start since May 30, when he ran fifth in the 870-yard, $30,000 Fine Loom Handicap at Ruidoso Downs. The homebred son of FDD Dynasty banked $14,872 from four races last season, and his resume included a victory in the Zoetis Turf Paradise Distance Challenge when he was moved up from second after the disqualification of Jess Perfect Miracle.

Mickey Ward will be ridden by J. Martin Bourdieu for trainer Matt Fales.
