Prairie Meadows Challenge Winners Earn Berths to November 7th Championships

ALTOONA, IA—SEPTEMBER 12, 2015—Four more horses picked up starting spots on the November 7th Bank of America Challenge Championship Night at Lone Start Park by winning their respective divisions at Prairie Meadows Saturday night.

Bank of America Prairie Meadows Challenge Championship

Diamonds Edge ran down Mister Big to win the $73,440 Bank of America Prairie Meadows Challenge Championship Saturday night. A triple disqualification moved Wagons Of Roses to third and Wagon Of Roses to fourth.

Going-off at nearly at 22.50 to 1, Diamonds Edge broke out from the 12 position but rallied down the outside to complete the 440 yards in :21.501 seconds, a 103 speed index with no wind. The $32,314 winners' purse boosted the 5-year-old Special Leader gelding's earnings mark to $124,191.

The next probable start for the Hipolito Bueno owned-and-trained runner is the $350,000-Guaratneed Grade 1 Bank of America Challenge Championship November 7 at Lone Star Park.

Bueno shipped the sorrel gelding in from Indiana Grand Racetrack & Casino where he was disqualified and placed seventh in the Bradford Stakes on July 4. Bred in Texas by Joe Kirk Fulton, from the Feature Mr Jess mare Petriflying, Diamonds Edge's record stands at (20) 7-2-1.

Graded stakes winner Mister Big races for owner/breeder Jerry Windham and trainer Charley Hunt. Storm Smith rode the son of Shazoom from the Mr Jess Perry mare Jess An Illusion. Mister Big earned $14,688 to boost his earnings past $222,600. Winless this season, the sorrel finished second in two stakes at Retama Park this summer and was third in the Grade 3 Keokuk Stakes at Prairie Meadows August 15.

Completing the official order of finish were Wagon Of Roses Lvc, Bf Farm Boy, Pyro, Wagon Tales, Ncc Anchorman, Quarter Focus, Mo Zoomo, This Wagons Okay and Carpe Diem Drew. Wicked Valentine was scratched.

John Deere Prairie Meadows Juvenile

Fastest qualifier Gone All In returned to Prairie Meadows Saturday night to easily win the $54,900 John Deere Prairie Meadows Juvenile Challenge by one-length over Going Viral. Bella Nonna finished a neck back in third place.

Ridden by jockey Cody Smith Gone All In rallied strongly to complete the 350 yards in :17.675 seconds, a 90-speed index with no wind. The $25,254 winner's purse boosted her career mark to (6) 4-2-0 with earnings of $76,294.

More importantly she picked up a starting spot in the $150,000-Guaranteed John Deere Juvenile Challenge Championship November 7 at Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie, Texas.

Jason Olmstead conditions the daughter of leading sire Tres Seis for owners Fay and Gene Reeves. Vessels Stallion Farm LLC and Jerry Windham bred Gone All In in Texas from the First Down Dash mare Gone First.

Clinton Crawford saddled Going Viral for owner Hershel Cole. Agustin Silva rode the Brimmerton filly out of All In The Jeans, by Corona Cartel. Bred in Oklahoma by Bobby D. Cox, Going Viral earned $10,980 for the effort.

Don Boyle and Wade Segal own Bella Nonna, an Oregon bred daughter of leading sire Separatist out of Dorothy Nell by On A High. William Harris saddled the brown filly with Larry Payne getting the riding assignment. Wade and Tessa Siegel is the breeder.

Completing the field were There Goes My Wallet, Jess Attack, Carters Form, Cartel Dakota, Bad Girl Phase, Regal Ivory and Goin At It.

Adequan Prairie Meadows Derby

The super consistent Ajs High locked in a staring spot in the $200,000-Guaranteed Adequan Derby Challenge Championship at Lone Star Park November 7th after putting on a big effort to win the $43,020 Adequan Prairie Meadows Derby Challenge by one-length on Saturday night.

Winner of last year's John Deere Juvenile Challenge Championship(G2) and John Deere Prairie Meadows Juvenile the son of leading sire Apollitical Jess has never been beaten at the Iowa racetrack. Ridden by jockey Stormy Smith made up ground throughout as he completed the 400 yards in :19.688 seconds, a 93-speed index with no wind.

The $19,789 winner's purse boosted his career total to $282,494 with a (10) 7-0-1 record. Charley Hunt conditions the Oklahoma homebred for owner/breeder Michael Teel. Ajs High is from the Rare Form mare Regally Rare.

Bye Bye Birdy finished a close second for owner Barbara Barley and trainer Larry Sharp. James Flores rode the Hawkinson filly out of Sweet Baby And Bye, by Zevi (TB). Barely & Sharp Farm and Steve Burns is the breeder. The sorrel filly earned $8,064.

Cowboy Sexy finished three-quarters back in third for owner Perfectest Partnership. Also trained by Charley Hunt, Cowboy Sexy was ridden by Cody Smith. Terry Bell bred the son of leading sire Valiant Hero in Oklahoma from the Jess Louisiana Blue mare Louisiana Blue Dream. He picked up $4,302 for the effort.

Tac My Chances, Honeymoon Candy, Feature A Runaway, Panther Prize Me, Defiant Red Rooster, Stolen Fortune and Whattookyousolong completed the field.

Merial Prairie Meadows Distaff Challenge

Sudden Separation rolled to her third consecutive stakes win of the 2015 season with an impressive 1 ¼ length victory over Send Me This Wagon in the $32,580 Merial Prairie Meadows Distaff Challenge Saturday night. Kuhl Wave finished another 1½-lengths back for third.

Kicking off 2015 for a $15,000-tag at Remington Park in April, Sudden Separation has won five of eight starts, four stakes and earned more than $78,000 as a 4-year-old. Ridden by jockey James Flores the Insperable filly completed the 400-yard course in :19.532 seconds, a 97-speed index with no wind.

She picked up $14,660 and earned a starting spot in the $125,000-Guaranteed Merial Distaff Challenge Championship(G1) at Lone Star Park on Bank of America Challenge Championship Night November 7.

Larry Sharp conditions the Oklahoma homebred for owner/breeder Duane Murphy. Out of the Okey Dokey Dale mare Okie Dokey Annie, Sudden Separation boosted her career total to $85,131.

Randy Hill saddled runner-up Send Me This Wagon for owner/breeder Michael Pohl. The Oklahoma-bred daughter of Pyc Paint Your Wagon is a half-sister to last Monday's $3 million All American Futurity(G1) winner Jess Good Candy. Both runner are out of the Mr Jess Perry mare Jess Send Candy. Jorge Torres was up to earn $6,515 and bring the multiple stakes winning mare's earnings mark to $101,289.

Miguel Banuelos owns-and-trains Kaul Wave, a 5-year-old daughter of world champion Wave Carver from the Shazoom mare Sha-zooms Doll. Raul Gutierrez had the riding call aboard the graded stakes winner of more than $245,000. Tom Bradbury and Marvin Willhite is the breeder.

Kateillac, Zoom, Madresita, Captivating Cara, Sooner Country Babe and Dashing Lili completed the field. R Diva and Valiant Chickie were both scratched.
