AUBURN, WA—AUGUST 22, 2015—Chicks Special Angel is one of 15 aged sprinters entered in Sunday’s 440-yard Bank of America Emerald Downs Championship Challenge (G3) trials at Emerald Downs.
The 10 fastest qualifiers will meet in the $54,000-added final on September 6.
A 7-year-old daughter of Chickspecialmongoose, Chicks Special Angel is trained by Jose Sanguino for owner Miguel Sanguino. The mare scored a 1 1/2-length victory in last year’s Emerald Championship Challenge.
Luis F. Gonzalez has been named to ride Chicks Special Angel from the rail post in the first of two heats.
Cascade Dynamite brings a four-race win streak into the second trial. Racing for Ramiro Cancino from the barn of trainer Silvestre Sanguino, the 6-year-old Mountains Majesty gelding is coming off of a half-length win as the 9-5 favorite in the 250-yard, $17,000 Jack Rhoden Stakes at Prineville, Oregon, on July 18.
Cascade Dynamite drew post 3 and will be ridden by Ruben Camacho.
