SOUTH JORDAN, UT—JUNE 6, 2015—Making his first start in nearly two years, 5-year-old Fontainebleau defeated Runaway Spitfire by half-a-length on Saturday in the $11,490 Laurel Brown Bonus Challenge Presented by Markel at Laurel Brown Track. Quick Agent finished another half-a-length back for third.
Ridden by jockey Daniel Carrillo Fontainebleau completed the 350 yards in :17.672 seconds to pickup the winner's purse of $4,855. Jorge Garfias saddled the winner for owner Juan Castruita.
Paul Jones bred Fontainebleau in California from the Royal Quick Dash mare Summertime Quickie. The winner of four of 18 career starts has earned in excess of $30,300.
Runway Spitfire races for owner/trainer Jere Brinkerhoff. Ridden by Jairo Rangel, the Ocean Runaway 5-year-old earned $3,237 to boost her earnings mark to $33,008. Stanley Watkins bred the gray in Utah from the Chicks Beduino mare La Chica Chickie.
Ridden by Abel Ramirez, Quick Agent races for owner/trainer Luis Gonzalez. The homebred Be Real Quick filly is out of Shez De Agent, by Deregulate. The 3-year-old filly earned $1,079 for her effort.
Completing the Bonus Challenge field were Super Star Streak, She Pays Dividends, Flying Foose, James Diva, Sumbuddys Knockin and Hm Tresaces.
