John Deere Turf Paradise Juvenile Challenge Trials Attract 26 Two-Year-Olds

PHOENIX, AZ—APRIL 8, 2015—A total of 26 2-year-olds, all of whom will be making their first career start, has been entered in Sunday’s 300-yard John Deere Turf Paradise Juvenile Challenge trials.

Trainer Matt Fales will send out a pair of juveniles — FDD Nancy Girl and KR Crusin Cartel — who have recorded bullet works at Turf Paradise. A brown daughter of champion FDD Dynasty owned by Joey Martinez, FDD Nancy Girl prepped for her debut with a 220-yard work in :12.07 on March 21, the fastest of 11 drills at the distance that day.

FDD Nancy Girl drew post 5 and will be ridden by J. Martin Bourdieu in the first of three trials.

KR Crusin Cartel is a homebred filly by champion Carters Cartel campaigned by Kyler Racing LLC. KR Crusin Cartel worked 220 in :12.14 on March 24, the fastest of nine works at the distance that day. The filly will be ridden by Joe Ruiz from the rail post in the second heat.

The 10 fastest qualifiers will return in the $25,000-added John Deere Turf Paradise Juvenile Challenge final on April 26.
