PORTLAND, OR—FEBRUARY 8, 2015—Cascade Dynamite a 22-1 longshot surprised a full field Sunday to defeat Bellingham by a neck in the $12,000-added Portland Meadows Championship-Bonus Challenge (not black-type) at Portland Meadows. Sneakin Tr finished a neck behind the leaders in the show position.

Ridden by jockey Ruben Camacho, Cascade Dynamite drifted in slightly as he gained the lead in the closing seconds of the 440 yard distance. The Mountains Majesty 5-year-old, owned by Silvestre Delapaz Sanguino, completed the course in :21.859 seconds to earn a 105 speed index.

Bred in Oregon by Wade Siegel, from the Favorite Trick (TB) mare Mary A Millionaire, the multiple stakes winner earned $7,055 for Sunday's effort. Cascade Dynamite's career record stands at (24) 8-3-3 with $32,897 in earnings. He rewarded backers with a $43 win payoff, $9.30 to place and $7.20 to show.

Bellingham, who went off as the $2.60 post-time favorite, bumped at the start but put in a strong effort to finish second. Ridden by jockey Leonel Camacho-Flores, the gray gelding led early but could not hold off the fast closing Cascade Dynamite. Jose Sanguino conditions the Check Him Out 6-year-old for owner Pedro Sanguino. Zory Kuzyk bred Bellingham in California from the Mr Eye Opener mare My Ladys Eyes. He earned $3,527 for the effort.

Gary Chumbley's Oregon homebred Sneakin Tr finished a neck back in third for trainer Scott Raley and jockey Werner-Hagerty. The multiple stakes-placed Tr Dasher 4-year-old is out of Sneak Bac, by Splash Back. The $1,764 show check boosted his career total to $20,733.

Completing the field were Cm Got Overserverd, Sollovino, Flyin Lion, Thinkin Of Girls, Veyron and L Bar D Mighty Fine. Chicks Special Angel was scratched.
