CASPER, WY—MAY 22, 2020—During the Wyoming Gaming Commission Special Meeting held Thursday, the Wyoming Gaming Commission approved a request from Wyoming Horse Racing, LLC to amend their races dates for 2020.

The request was based on the impacts of the Coronavirus and from a health and safety standpoint as well as the economic downturn of the industry as stated by Wyoming Horse Racing LLC’s President and Managing Partner, Eugene Joyce.

Wyoming Horse Racing, LLC proposed to cancel the race meet at Energy Downs in Gillette that was scheduled to run June 12th through the 28th (9 days). The amended race dates for Wyoming Horse Racing LLC are as follows: Sweetwater Downs in Rock Springs, August 23rd, 24th, 25th, 30th, 31st and September 1st, 6th, 7th, 8th, 13th, 14th and 15th (12 days).

Wyoming Downs in Evanston, Wyoming is still scheduled to run 14 days total, Saturdays and Sundays, starting July 4th and running through August 16th at the Evanston, Wyoming racetrack as currently approved by the Commission.
