LOS ALAMITOS, CA—MAY 20, 2018—Several records were set in the popular nighttime Pick Fours at Los Alamitos Race Course during this past racing weekend (May 18-20) at the Orange County track. The Quarter Horse racing weekend was highlighted by the Grade 2 Robert Adair Kindergarten Futurity held on Sunday, May 20 and the Dillingham Handicap on Saturday, May 19.

A record total of $597,027 was bet in the three Early Pick Fours offered for a record average for the weekend of $199,009, bettering the previous total of $580,525 set on May 4-6 ($193,525 average). The Early Pick Four figures were highlighted by the highest pool ever for a Saturday night here of $215,145 set on May 19.

In addition, the three Late Pick Fours handled a record total of $490,155 for an average of $163,385, which surpassed the previous single week highs of $456,697 (and $152,232 average) also set on May 4-6. The pool for the Late Pick Four sequence on Sunday night, which included the running of the Robert Adair Kindergarten Futurity, was a single night record of $196,385. The new record was close to $30,000 higher than the previous track high of $166,847 set on February 11.

The combined total pools between the Early and Late Pick Fours held this past weekend was also a single week record of $1,088,412 , eclipsing the previous high of $1,037,272 posted on May 4-6. In one other business note, the all-sources handle for Sunday, May 20, which was highlighted by a 10-race live program, was $1,807,504.
