AQHA Racing National Polls Remain Steady as Spring Racing Season Heats Up

Q-RACING —MAY 16, 2018—There were no major changes to either AQHA Racing National Poll this week, but there could be some movement in the rankings in the coming weeks, as graded stakes are set for several tracks including Delta Downs, Los Alamitos and Remington Park.

The opening of the Ruidoso Downs meet on May 25, with trials for the Grade 1 Ruidoso Derby and Futurity during the first weekend, also could bring some new faces to the polls.

In the rankings for older horses, Jessies First Down, the two-time reigning world champion, held his spot at the top. The 7-year-old FDD Dynasty gelding captured the Leo Stakes (G1) on April 28 at Remington Park in his 2018 debut.

In the 2-year-old poll, Lynnder 16 also maintained the top spot. The Apollitical Jess filly is undefeated in two starts this year, including the Remington Park Futurity (RG2).
