AUSTIN, TX—JULY 21, 2017—According to an article published on PaulickReport.com three Quarter Horse trainers were notified today by the Texas Racing Commission that horses in their care have allegedly tested positive for the Class 1 drug Nomifensine.

Trainers named were AQHA Racing Champion trainer Judd Kearl, #4 Leading 2017 Trainer of Money Earners Jose Sanchez and Grade 1 winning trainer Brian Stroud. The violations allegedly occurred at Sam Houston Race Park and Retama Park. Kearl was sited with five positives, Sanchez with two and Stroud one.

Hearings before the board of stewards have been set August 2 for Sanchez and Stroud and August 3 for Kearl.

The Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory at Texas A&M University conducts drug testing for the Texas Racing Commission. According to sources, split samples tested in California and Pennsylvania confirmed the original findings.

Kearl has three finalists in Saturday's $1,150,000 Rainbow Futurity and four qualifiers in Sunday's $1,000,000 Rainbow Futurity at Ruidoso Downs. Sanchez is the trainer of the nation's #1 2-year-old money earner Dashinunder Afullmoon.
