Heza Dasha Fire Assigned 129 Pound Highweight For Go Man Go Handicap On September 4

LOS ALAMITOS, CA—AUGUST 27, 2016—S-Quarter K Racing’s Heza Dasha Fire, the 2015 world champion Quarter Horse, is expected to make his anticipated return to the track in the Grade 1 $100,000 Go Man Go Handicap on Sunday at Los Alamitos. Heza Dasha Fire is one of 17 horses nominated to the Go Man Go and he’s been assigned highweight of 129 pounds.

The Go Man Go will be held at 400 yards and its winner could earn a berth to the Grade 1, $600,000 Champion of Champions. The Go Man Go victor could earn a Champion of Champions berth if a horse wins more than one of the designated races carrying a starting berth to the Champion of Champions; if there are no dead-heats for the win in any of the designated races; or if any of the if the connections of a horse with a berth officially decline the berth.

Heza Dasha Fire, winner of the Champion of Champions last year, will be making his first start since finishing second in the Los Alamitos Winter Championship on Sunday, February 14. Heza Dasha Fire had surgery on both knees after that race, but most recently he looked outstanding when working 350 yards from the gate in :17.50 on August 9. The 4-year-old gelding by Walk Thru Fire won all five of his outings in 2015, including the Golden State Derby, Los Alamitos Super Derby and the Champion of Champions. Jose Flores trains Heza Dasha Fire.

Bill Hoburg’s BH Lisas Boy and Tom Atwood and John Wells’ Far Niente have been assigned the next highweight at 125 pounds.

BH Lisas Boy, a Mighty Invictus gelding, won the Bank of America California Regional Challenge on August 14, while Far Niente, by FDD Dynasty, is a three-time Grade 1 winner at Los Alamitos. Spencer Childers California Breeders Championship Handicap winner Flay and the graded stakes placed runner Dutcher have both been assigned 124 pounds. Forget It, winner of three major derbies in 2015, has been assigned 123 pounds.

The rest of the nominees are: Jess A Cowboy (123 pounds), Dr Jess (122), Fire Fortune (122), He Is The Risingstar (122), BF Farm Boss (121), Closing Time (121), El Duero (121), Jake Gold BR (121), Walk The Catwalk (120), Fiery Kimbo (118) and Viento Negro (117).
