RUIDOSO DOWNS, NM—AUGUST 21, 2016—Trainer Judd Kearl's unforgettable summer continues, as the Rainbow Derby(G1) winning trainer put four-finalist into the Grade 1 $2,414,691 All American Derby, including the fastest qualifier Volcom Bay.

The Utah-native not only won the Rainbow Derby(G1) with Valiant Rogue, but he has had the fastest qualifiers in all three-summer derbies in Ruidoso this year. Volcom Bay finished second in the Ruidoso Derby(G1) to American Futurity(G1) winner Jess Good Candy. Now Kearl eyes the grand prize of the three derbies with a gaudy four-qualifiers.

"What a dream day I had on Sunday," said Kearl. "We have been pointing towards this race with several horses, and to have all the patience and perseverance pay off is just phenomenal. I am so glad for the owners, and for my team to have these horses peaking at the right time. Now it is time to get these horses ready to come back for the finals."

Kearl not only qualified the fastest qualifier Volcom Bay to the All American Derby(G1), he also qualified the Hialeah and South Florida Derby winner Ec Jet One as the second-fastest qualifier.

The Kearl trained filly First Fancy Racy, who was the runner-up finisher in the Texas Classic Futurity(G1) last year, was the fifth-fastest qualifier with jockey Jose Alvarez aboard. Kearl's fourth-qualifier into the rich derby on Labor Derby weekend is Brave Heart Won, who qualified sixth also with jockey Jose Alvarez aboard.

All four Kearl qualifiers were trial winners today, winning by a combined six and three-quarters lengths.
