LOS ALAMITOS, CA—JULY 30, 2016—Ed Allred’s two-time Grade 1 winner He Looks Hot will be scratched from the $100,000 Spencer Childers California Breeders Championship Handicap on tonight (Saturday) because of a temperature said his trainer Scott Willoughby. The news was first reported by Ed Burgart on his Twitter feed @qheddie.

“He came up with a bit of a temperature,” Willoughby said. “But everything looks like it’s just a temperature and nothing major right now. He might be okay in two days, but he won’t be running on Saturday night.”

He Looks Hot was the 7-5 morning line favorite to win the Spencer Childers at 400 yards. The gelding by Walk Thru Fire won the Grade 1 Vessels Maturity on July 3 to earn a berth to this year’s Champion of Champions. He also won the 2014 Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity and has earned $959,985. He Looks Hot missed the entire 2015 season because of two colic surgeries.

Three-time derby winner Forget It and 2015 All American Derby third place finisher Fire Fortune were both 7-2 in the morning line and now figure to battle for the role of favorite in the Spencer Childers on Saturday. Front And Center, Flay, Fiery Kimbo, Look Of A Dasher, Walk The Catwalk and Trust Me are the other horses in the race (see related story).

The Spencer Childers is scheduled as the 8th of 11 races in Saturday’s California Breeders Champions Night. For more info on this great night of racing visit 'http://www.losalamitos.com/champion/index.html#.
