HOUSTON, TX—APRIL 18, 2016—Due to the severe weather and flooding in the Houston area Sam Houston Race Park will be closed today.

The tracks nine-race live card and simulcasting are both canceled for Monday, April 18.

Live racing is scheduled to return Friday (Apr. 22) with six trials on the 10 race-card for the John Deere Texas Juvenile Challenge. Saturday's card (Apr 23) at the Houston racetrack includes the Grade 2 $540,000 Sam Houston Futurity, Grade 3 $191,000 Sam Houston Derby and the $50,000 Sam Houston Juvenile.
