TALLAHASSE, FL—DECEMBER 1, 2015—Final, sustaining and initial nomination payments for upcoming Florida based races are due TODAY (Dec. 1).

Final payments are due TODAY (Dec. 1) for the $500,000-est. Hialeah Derby, $250,000-est. Hialeah Maturity, $95,000-est. Stallion Stakes Derby and $200,000-Guaranteed Sunshine State Derby. Late nominations can also be made to these races. No payments will be accepted after the 48-hour grace period.

Sustaining payments are due TODAY (Dec. 1) for the $250,000 2016 South Florida QH Derby and the 2017 $200,000-Guaranteed Sunshine State Derby.

Horsemen are reminded that they have a 48-hour grade period for both mailed and credit card payments.

The Hialeah 2015/2016 meet opens on Saturday, December 26 and runs through Monday, February 29. It offers eight Quarter Horse races per day with daily purses averaging $140,000 per day, for a total of $5.6 million up for grabs.

The meet's biggest race is the $500,000-est. Hialeah Derby for foals of 2013. The trials for the race are set for December 27, and offer $15,000 purses for each trial—the second-richest trial purse amount offered in the country. Those who qualify to the January 17 final will be running for $200,000 in added money.
