TALLAHASSEE, FL—SEPTEMBER 29, 2015—Sustaining payments for a number Hialeah Park's upcoming stakes races are due Thursday, October 1. Horses nominated to the 2015/2016 Hialeah Derby, Hialeah Maturity, Stallion Stakes Derby and South Florida QH Derby have payments due Thursday. Late payment nominations can also be made on October 1 to each of these races.

Horsemen are reminded that they have a 48-hour grade period for both mailed and credit card payments.

The Hialeah 2015/2016 meet opens on Saturday, December 26 and runs through Monday, February 29. It offers eight Quarter Horse races per day with daily purses averaging $140,000 per day, for a total of $5.6 million up for grabs.

The meet's biggest race is the $500,000-est. Hialeah Derby for foals of 2013. The trials for the race are set for December 27, and offer $15,000 purses for each trial—the second-richest trial purse amount offered in the country. Those who qualify to the January 17 final will be running for $200,000 in added money.
