GRAND PRAIRIE, TX—SEPTEMBER 28, 2015—On November 6 and 7, 2015, Lone Star Park at Grand Prairie is hosting the 2015 Bank of America Challenge Championships. The Challenge Championships is similar to the Breeders' Cup with different tracks around the country being selected to host the annual event.

To coincide with The Bank of America Challenge Championships this year, Lone Star Park is holding a School Age Artwork/Drawing Contest celebrating American Quarter Horses. The Grand Prairie Track has asked all area Elementary, Middle, Junior High and High Schools to participate. All artwork received will be put on public display around the facility during the Challenge Championships. Cash prizes will be awarded!

Here are the details for School Age Drawing Contest:
Submit original Artwork/Drawing for school age-Elementary, Middle/Junior High and High School-of American Quarter Horse(s) to be displayed at Lone Star Park at Grand Prairie during the Bank of America Challenge Championships held November 6 and 7, 2015.

Eligibility & Submission Information

  • Elementary, Middle/Junior High and High School students enrolled in grades 1 - 12.
  • Original Artwork/Drawing on an 8" x 10" (with or without border) denoting a quarter horse.
  • Sign artwork (a small signature)
  • On separate sheet of paper provide your name, address, age, school, grade level and title of artwork. Include one or two sentences describing the significance of your artwork.
  • Deadline for submission of artwork by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, October 23, 2015.

Artwork may be submitted by mail to: Lone Star Park at Grand Prairie, Attention: Marketing Department, 1000 Lone Star Parkway, Grand Prairie, TX 75050

Hand delivered, in a sealed envelope, to: East Will Call Booth at Lone Star Park at Grand Prairie, Monday - Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Friday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., or Saturday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Award & Winner Information
1st and 2nd place awards and various Honorable Mentions will be given to each age group, Elementary, Middle/Junior High and High School, in each category. Winners and Honorable Mention artwork will be displayed at Lone Star Park at Grand Prairie during the Bank of America Challenge Championships on November 6 and 7, 2015. Special recognition will be given to 1st and 2nd place winners from the Winner's Circle during the Bank of America Challenge Championships at Lone Star Park at Grand Prairie. All 1st and 2nd place winners will receive a four (4) pack of General Admission passes to attend the event on Friday, November 6, 2015 or Saturday, November 7, 2015.

High School
1st Place: $300.00
2nd Place: $150.00

Middle/Junior High School
1st Place: $200.00
2nd Place: $100.00

Elementary
1st Place: $100.00
2nd Place: $50.00

Honorable Mention
One (1) T-Shirt and a "Day at the Races" Family Four (4) Pack which includes four (4) General Admissions, four (4) Lone Star Programs and four (4) Large Soft Drinks to the Bank of America Challenge Championships on Friday, November 6, 2015 or Saturday, November 7at Lone Star Park at Grand Prairie

In addition, all students who submit a piece of artwork and provide the appropriate contact information will be mailed: Four (4) Track Packs valid for a General Admission and a Lone Star Today Program for the 2016 Spring Thoroughbred Racing Season, mid-April through mid-July, 2016.
